Form manipulation

Hi All,

I am new to cakephp framework I am facing a problem I have some fields
in my form and when the data is posted by the user apart from that I
also need to store "users id" which is stored in session and the
"current date".

since these two fields I have not kept in the form controller is not
letting me manipulate form values.

can you suggest what would be the best way to achieve it.

I also need DB driven select box in my form what would be the best and
easiest way to display it.
