as well - I'll experiment with that as URLs of the form <host>/
~username/cake/ might be nicer than <host>/cake/index.php/whatever.
The most important thing is that Cake is now up and running in a user
account, and I just hope it lives up to its documentation and really
does save me scads of time.
The positive responses to my newbie query are encouraging, as they
indicate a thriving and helpful user community, which in my experience
is essential in an Open Source project. I was similarly helped by the
folk in the jQuery group, and surely needed it as it was a steep
learning curve. Thanks again to all who replied.
