have to create your own view logic. Personally I would go with
multiple checkboxes or radio buttons and continue to use cake's
automagic.
Controller:
$this->set('cities', $this->Person->City->find('list'));
// By default will select the id and name fields, but name field can
be altered by defining var $displayField = 'customNameField'; in your
model
View:
$form->input('City', array('type'=>'select', 'multiple'=>'checkbox'));
// the form helpers automagic will use the $cities array set in the
view and create your checkboxes for you and will tick any cities
already selected by comparing to your data array.
