Problem with echo in the controllers with CakePHP 2.0.1 and 2.0.2 on NGINX

We have some ajax action in the controller that are supposed to spit out JSON.
They end with:
                echo json_encode($data);
                $this->autoRender = false;

On a Ubuntu Machine (that will be the production machine) with Nginx and php-fpm the echo do no output anything.
We get only the headers in the answer.

Everything works on XAMPP that uses Apache.
