Re: Cakebook crashes Flash on Chrome

Chrome seems to be prone to crashing due to flash (seems to be various problems)
many result in crashing.

for me I get this alot in chrome - I can't recall it happening in firefox (if it does not on the same scale)

As you mention that you have lots of browsers & listening to google music perhaps it gets to much for chrome to handle.

You could clone the book - then it may be simple to build a local version of cake book minus the flash copy script, if you made a local branch you'd be able to maintain it.

building it is very easy

Just on this point.. I get flash crashing on chrome a lot when browsing Github.
Its not an issue with the cakebook. Its an issue with flash and chrome, as far as I can tell.

As to why? The SWF allows for copying code samples to the clipboard.

It might be worth sharing which OS (it looks like Windows XP from the
screenshot) you have. Having 20-30 tabs open doesn't really point the
finger at the Cookbook.

Maybe check your plugin versions: http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/plugincheck/

I am not getting that issue, so I don't think it's Cakebook that is causing
your problem.

This issue has existed for at least a year now, and it's extremely annoying.
I have no idea what causes it.  But whenever it happens, I have to restart
my browser only to have Flash crash again after a while.
I have oftentimes 20-30 tabs open at a given time, with Google Music (flash
player) playing in the background.
Why does Cakebook need Flash?  I think this is a more important question.
Here's a screenshot of what happens when it crashes:
