Unknown time before app_controller beforeFilter

Hi All,

Could anyone help me to understand exactly what occurs prior to the first line of the app_controller's beforeFilter?

I'm using the following line on the first line of my app_controller:

round(microtime(true) - $_SERVER['REQUEST_TIME'], 2);

This timer averages between 0.2 and 1.2 seconds.

If anyone has any recommendations it would be much appreciated!
