I'm having some trouble trying to follow what it is you're trying to
do, but it appears that the crux of it is that you want to call a
method on the Group model. If you've set your associations up
correctly, you can access the Group model through the User:
$this->User->Group->whatever()

As for making some actions available to anonymous users: $this->Auth->allow(...)
