CakePHP 3.6 is tasting pretty good! The team recently released CakePHP 3.6. This will probably be the last release of the CakePHP 3 series. We have already started working hard to get CakePHP 4.0 and there is a detailed roadmap available which is kept up to date - check it out and comment! CakePHP 3.6 has added a few small features to make your life as a CakePHP developer easier. Some of them include an Improved plugin initialization (based on the recently added Application class), a much better console environment, compact and entity based routing and route cache. That last one (route caching) makes a huge difference in performance on applications with lots of routes. The team at CakeDC work hard at finding ways of improving the performance of the framework - thanks to the major help contributed by Jorge M. González for getting this feature into production! Until next time! Megan CakePHP Community Manager |
