Re: Forum instead of Mailing List?

I would guess the main reasons the admins prefer a google group are:
searching capability, maintenance simplicity, and free bandwidth/
storage.

The searching aspect is by far the most important for me. I rely
heavily on this group for information.

Nonetheless, there are features provided by other forum systems which
would be nice to have. Perhaps Google might at some point decide to
provide them:
- subscribe for future updates to a particular thread
- include inline formatted code into a post
- subforums.
