Here is the tax rate as per 2011/12 budget (proposed)
Upto 180K (200K for females): 0%
180K - 480K: 10%
480K - 880K: 15%
880K - 1180K: 20%
1180K and more: 25%
Minimum tax (individual): 2000tk.
Now, some people said the earnings staying at home will not be treated as tax free as it is export. However, some also said it will be treated as tax-free. So, you need to consult a income tax lawyer to get the appropriate answer.

We had a course on Taxation in last term. As far as I know, it depends on your yearly income. There is a range for tax free income. Say, for the first 1 lakh 65 thousands BDT, you don't need to pay any taxes. After that up to another certain amount you need to pay 5%, then from there to another range you need to pay 10%. Like this.
So your income doesn't need to be fixed. The year you shall cross the range for taxable income, you shall need to pay taxes.

Let's consider i am a full time freelancer and i get average $1000 in a month from it. That means i am bringing $1000 remittance to my country from outside.
Now the question is, should i pay tax to my govt for this remittance? It's my monthly income but it's not my regular salary (It's not fixed, overtime is included in this amount, sometime i work 16 hours in a day, sometime my wife help me in my work).
And if i want to expand work area with some (3/4) guys, then how to treat it for tax, and how to proceed it for tax?
