Add Category in select in the Post form

Hi I've got a formulaire to cretaes Blog Post. In this form I ve a Category Select.

I'd like to add a category item in the category select using a popup or jquerry ui dialog but I really don't know how to start. How to post the category and how to refresh the select

I've you got any ideas
