pagination with lat lng

morning, i have a problem with cakephp 1.3:

$this->paginate['fields'] = "id, $sql_for_distance as distance";

$data = $this->paginate('Item', array('distance < 50' )); 

I got mysql error: field distance not exists.

Anyone got the same error? Solution?
