Plugin under its own (sub-)domain?

Hello everyone,

I have my app up and running and it is accessible via www.mydomain.com

In addition I would like to add a RESTful api which should be available from its own subdomain api.mydomain.com

So I thought I create a "Plugin/Api" and have all the Controllers/Actions/Authorization/Layout separated from the main app there. But I can still use the Models.

I can create a Virtual Host under Apache with the DocumentRoot /app/Plugin/Api/webroot/

How does the index.php look like then?

And is this a good idea in general? Or are there better ways?

Thanks, Tobi
