Scaffolded Form Input for Model Associations

After linking two models together with, for instance, using the $hasMany and $belongsTo definitions should I expect to see either a multi-select form input element in the add and edit scaffolded views for the model with the $hasMany definition? I would expect to get something in there but I don't see anything, does that mean something is wrong with my associations? Is this feature supported in Cake 2.2.3? Thanks in advance for any help, I've been wrestling with this for quite some time.
