I set up a postgresql database on my server and am getting the following error with a fresh installation (and brand new download of CakePHP):
Cake is NOT able to connect to the database.
Database connection "Postgres" is missing, or could not be created.
Selected driver is not enabled
I've verified that the database is running and can connect to it using a remote client (Tuple). I've searched everywhere and the only clue I could find involved making sure that the following lines in php.ini were uncommented:
extension=php_pdo_pgsql.dll
extension=php_pgsql.dll
I added those lines to a custom php.ini include for the site in question, however the tip in question was for an installation on a windows machine whereas I'm running cake and postgresql on linux... so I really don't know if that's correct. I also added <?php echo extension_loaded('pgsql'); ?> and it's returning a 1 on the page so I assume the issue is not that postgresql isn't accessible from php.
And... CakePHP has no trouble connecting to a mysql database. It just can't connect to the postgresql for some frustrating reason.
