how to tell if a post belongs to a User!?

On PostsController 

Action Edit

if( $this->Post->isOwnedBy( $POSTID, $USERID) ){

     //code

}

doesnot work!

Error: SQLSTATE[42000]: Syntax error or access violation: 1064 You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near 'isOwnedBy' at line 1

Wath i need to do to know if the user, is the owner of the post?
