I can't understand why you would want to join the two and how you feel it would "simplify" your app. Doing so would be really bad form and completely defeats the purpose of the MVC architecture. If you're working with static views you could simply use the 'Pages' controller to serve your views. If you feel you absolutely need your logic on the same page as your view  I would suggest skipping a the framework altogether and stick with conventional plain jane php instead of worrying yourself over design patterns and clean, organized, extensible code.
