Re: data back from model

Hey

You can write a method in your model to save the record, then return $this->getLastInsertId();

Something like this: $recordId = $this->Model->saveMethod();
return $this->redirect(array('controller' => 'etc', 'action' => 'etc', $recordId);

My application saves to the db and then forward the user to a page that needs the id of the newly saved product.

In my saveAfter method in the model im able to get the id, but how do i pass it back to my method in time to be used in the redirect?

if anyone could shed some light would be great.

thanks

Dean
