display on same page

Hi,

In cakephp can you post data then display this data back on the same view /
I want the user to enter in data to search by and the results appear in the same page.

I tried the below but I cant get anything to display on the same page.

public function displayform() {
   
     if ($this->request->is('post')) {
            $t=$this->request->data;
             
           
            if (!empty($this->request->data)){
               
                $teacher= $this->Teacher->find('all');
    
                  $this->set('teacher',$teacher);
