2 column css layout: click on link in left column, opening the view in the right column

hi,

i have a simple css layout. header, 2 columns and footer....header for
my logo, footer for contacts etc.
I use this layout to edit information.

now in the left colum I want to show different categories of the
product that can be edited. "Address", "Pictures", "Contacts" and so
on...

so if the user wants to change the images he clicks the link
"Pictures" on the left column. and here it comes:

how do i make cakephp open the view "pictures.ctp" in the right
column? I dont want to redirect to a new page?

do i need the ajax helper for that? or is there a trick?
