URL problem while integrating fancybox into a CakePHP

I am trying to integrate fancybox into a CakePHP website. The problem
I am facing is how to to by pass the cake's routing system.

I need to link to an image in the disk.

<a class="grouped_elements" rel="group2" href="userfiles/images/
my_image.jpg">open image</a>

but each time I do this the url is translated into (controller =>
userfiles), (action => images), my_image.jpg is passed as parameter.

I tried absolute URL are useless since they point to the application
and the routing system translate them automatically.

I would appreciate the if some one gives me a hand,
