Here is my code: http://bin.cakephp.org/view/69119931
What causes those 3 extra select count by primary key?
I'm talking about query No. 20, 21, 22
If it's for checking the existence of row with given id, then
why does not appear when member not exists (before insert)?
Thanks in advance!

haha really nice Icon you've got on your site :)
I will give it a try tomorrow a 503 header should make it all complete
for my app.
Thx for the advice.

Hey,
I forgot to mention that the route I suggested has to be the FIRST
route in the routes.php file to catch every route.
Interesting suggestion about the header though! Could you give me an
example of such a header? Would you use a different layout set by the
pages_controller or is there any way to set the header within the view
(maintenance.ctp) or the controller action (e.g. "display" in
pages_controller, where you can switch/case the called page and run
some code like setting the layout...)?
Would be nice to see this once, my own maintenance page does NOT set
any header atm...

first thing to check is a pr($divisions) in your controller to check
if the data from your find()-call is correct (and your virtual field
is included).
Second thing is that a select as I remember should look like this
within a view:
echo $this->Form->input(__('Division', true), array(
'type' => 'select',
'options' => divisions
);
Your code looks a bit confusing when it comes to the view.
Normally when your array for the Drop-Down-Options is formatted well,
you do not need to set $divisions variable within the options of the
select input.
So I guess your list array (e.g. $key => $value pairs) is not correct
formatted.
Could you post the pr()-result of your $divisions array here?

DD

Hey,
that's easy:
Simply define a route in your routes.php file like this:
Router::connect('/*', array('controller' => 'pages', 'action' =>
'display', 'maintenance));
Obviously you will need a page in app/views/pages/ called
"maintenance.ctp" where you can display all information you want.
When you're done with maintenance, simple put a '#' before the route
(to comment it out) and your app will be back in normal mode.

what you need to do is build a proper contain
$query['contain'] = array(
'Comment'=> array(
'User'=>array(....),
'limit'=> <int>
'order'=> 'field name desc'
)
)
return $query
That way you will get your Shows paginated containing comments->userinfo

Use 1.3.8, which is the latest stable release. I don't think you want to get into the situation where you developed using the in-progress version 2 branch, and are then ready to publish your site, but version 2 is not ready for release yet. Or version 2 changes substantially between the time you start using it and the time you're ready to publish. Or version 2 has bugs, because it's not done yet. There is no announced date for version 2 to be completed. Stick with the latest stable version.

the solution you came up with is rally BAD!!! people burn in hell for
code like that. seriously
look at what you are doing
1. you select all records from your linking table (which is double the
size of your posts table. assuming every post has 1-4 tags on average)
in one query. insane right?
2. then you go through entire record set extracting post ids (lot's of
duplicates because every post has 2-4 tags on average)
3. you do full index scan on your posts table (2-4 time for every
post, because you didn't do distinct select in previous insane steps)
excluding virtually every record except few latest uncategorized
posts.
in the long run those 3 lines of code will crush your server.
perhaps you should look into habtm countercache.
although it is not implemented for habtm as core feature. i've come
across some articles with workarounds
do that and it will come down to one indexed select on countercache
field where countercache is zero
Cheers

Cakephp Version: 1.3.8
OS: Windows7
Experience: Newbie
I have a generel problem with the security component.
1.) well, i have following actions(add, edit) in my controller. If i
call in beforeFilter(), like this, $this->Security-
>requireAuth('add'), the requireAuth generated in edit view a
token_key too. Is that right or do i something wrong. According to
Cake-API: http://book.cakephp.org/view/1301/requireAuth may not
happen!
2.) If i change the tokey_key and make a request i dont get a 404-
Page. It only shows a white/blank page. Somebody told me: set ur debug
mode to "o" and after then u get the 404-Page. Nothing works :(
3.) My Basic HTTP Authentication is not working right, too:
public function beforeFilter() {
$this->Security->requireLogin(
'edit', 'add'
);
$this->Security->loginOptions = array(
'type' => 'basic',
'realm' => 'MyRealm'
);
$this->Securtiy->loginUsers = array(
'guest' => 'test'
);
}
The requireLogin('edit', 'add') works right but it is doesnt accept
username and passwort? Why
Thanks

Hello,
CakePHP seems to be ignoring the $useDbConfig variable in my model.
I'm trying to use a custom datasource, but I'm getting the error:
Database table foo_files for model FooFiles was not found.
When I first loaded the model and new datasource, there were typos in
the datasource file which caused errors, so I know that the datasource
file is actually being loaded. Why is CakePHP still looking for a
database table?
My model, app/models/foo_files.php, contains:
class FooFiles extends AppModel {
var $name = 'FooFiles';
var $useTables = false;
var $useDbConfig = 'foofiles';
}
The app/config/database.php file has:
var $foofiles = array(
'datasource' => 'foofiles',
'workshopsdir' => '/some/dir',
);
My new datasource, app/models/datasources/myfiles_source.php, contains
(summarized):
class FoofilesSource extends DataSource {
protected $_schema = array(
'files' => array( ... )
);
public function listSources() {
return array('files');
}
public function describe($model) {
return $this->_schema['files'];
}
public function read($model, $queryData = array()) {
$workshopsDir = $config['workshopsdir'];
if(!isset($queryData['conditions'])) $queryData['conditions'] =
'all';
$events = array();
switch ($queryData['conditions']) {
default:
return(glob("$workshopsDir/*"));
break;
case $array[] = 'videos':
...
}
}
Any advice would be appreciated!

Or would it be better to use 1.3.8 and then in the future migrate to
2.x.x?
It took me a long time to work this one out!
