Re: [phpXperts] Some Generic Queries Regarding ZCE

Ans 1) Exams can be attended in a lot of test centers in Bangladesh. New Horizons Learning Center in Dhanmondi is quite active.
Ans 2) It's instant. You get the results as soon as you submit your last answer.
Ans 3) The voucher remains valid for a year
Ans 4) Not more than once. You have to buy a new voucher if you fail (which u never will :P ) but you will get some discount in it
Ans 5) 90 minutes.
Ans 6) You answer in a computer
Ans 7) Well the things they ask for like 2 forms of identity and 2 copies of your photo. You can take other things too but cannot take it into the exam room.
Ans 8) There are 70 questions
Ans 9) You need to score 60% to pass
Ans 10) 2 books are enough - Zend PHP 5 Certification Study guide and Zend PHP 5.3 Certification Study Guide. The 5.3 study guide is very brief so the PHP 5 guide helps more.
Ans 11) They are separate certifications and yes you can sit for both of them. They are separate. You can pass in one or both.
Ans 12) Well it's been only 2 days I'm a ZCE so I'm not sure about its contribution in career. It took me 2-3 days to finish reading both of the books thoroughly and prepare for the exams

Btw, you don't need the answers to these questions because you will pass anyway :P Just sit for the exams :D

Subject: [phpXperts] Some Generic Queries Regarding ZCE

I have some queries regarding the Zend Certification. I've been to: http://www.zend.com/en/services/certification/#obtain but still have some questions.

1) Where do I attend the exams in Bangladesh? I mean any known test centers which are still operating?

2) How long does it take to publish the results?

3) How long does the voucher remain valid?

4) How many times can I (re)take the exam with one voucher?

5) What is the length of the exam? In minutes?

6) Do I have to write on papers or do I type in the answers on a computer?

7) What are the things I am allowed to take in with me in the exam center?

8) How many questions are set? Any ideas on the distribution of scores or question patterns?

9) What is the score to pass?

10) Which books to read? Which topics to cover? How critical the questions usually are?

11) Can I take the ZF certification along with PHP certification? If I do, will there be two modules or one modules with questions from both? What happens if I fail in ZF but pass in PHP one?

12) Questions to ZCEs, did doing the degree made any significant contribution to your career or recognition? Or any other effects? How long did it take you to prepare for the exam?

Sorry, I had a lot of questions. Thanks in advance :)

Regards,
Masnun
