For example, the first column would use something as follows to get the names out:

$staffmembers = $this->User->find('all', array(
                        'fields' => array('User.id', 'User.first_name', 'User.last_name'),
                        'conditions' => array('User.group_id' => 3),
                        'recursive' => 0
        ));
