SQL Server, Linux, CakePHP 2

Can anyone confirm if this is actually possible?  Or has anyone been able to do it?

Leveraging https://github.com/rchavik/datasources/tree/mssql-2.0  , ODBC, freedts, anything?

I've been searching + trying different things for a few days now and have read so many different articles.  I was hoping to post a guide once I got it working, but I'm about to give up.

Has anyone been able to 100% get this working?
