jquery.sortable problem in plugin

I'm using jquery.sortable and it's working fine in the main app but it doesn't save any reordered positions in plugins.
Can anyone tell me what to change to this code to make it work in plugins also?

In my AppController I have:

    public function sortable($id = null) {
        Configure::write('debug', 0);
        if (!$id
            || !is_numeric($id)
            || !isset($this->data['listing'])
            || !is_numeric($this->data['listing'])
        ) {
          exit;
        }

        $this->set('data', $this->{$this->modelClass}->save($this->data, true, array('listing')));
    }

And I also have put the same in my PluginAppController.
