Custom FormWidget Vs Custom FormHelper vs ... [Cake 3]

Hi, 

Playing around with form helpers  and form widgets in Cake 3 

Is there a way to override the Basic Widget with my custom Basic Widget and have options 'error'=>false, 'label'=>false by default? 

OR this can't be done in the widget and will have to go into my custom form helper
