Multilingual sites and 2 characters language code in URL

Hello,

I'm creating a multiligual website with language code in the URL, for example :

http://www.example.com/fre/products

or :

http://www.example.com/eng/products

or :

http://www.example.com/ita/products

Is there a way to use two letters for the language code ?

fr instead of fre, it instead of ita and en for eng ?

Last thing, I'm using CakePhp 2.3.8.
