rawurlencode() expects parameter 1 to be string, array given [CORE/Cake/Routing/Route/CakeRoute.php, line 503]

Hi,

I am making this requestAction call in my menu.ctp:

$menus = $this->requestAction(array(

'controller' => 'menus',

'action' => 'menus'

), array(

'pass' => array(

$menuList

)

));

I am getting the following warning on the page:  rawurlencode() expects parameter 1 to be string, array given [CORE/Cake/Routing/Route/CakeRoute.php, line 503]

I am using CakePHP 2.3.8.  Any idea what can be causing this?
