Provide a style sheet for print media. It will help u hide unwanted page elements like ads on the page, be hidden and content formated for printing.

Remember, PHP is server side. You can print only on the machine PHP is installed. Your users can't print directly via php. Prompt them to print via JS in such cases. You probably understand this already, still a reminder :)
