Re: Hashed password displaying

Thanks for all the suggestions. I think I found the answer. It was showing asterisks but it was showing 36 asterisks not 5. In any case, I did some poking around on the internet as I seem to have to do fairly frequently while learning cakephp and finally found something that can blank out a field. It turns out there is a function that handles just that called beforeRender. In the User controller I invoked it as follows:

 function beforeRender()
    {
        unset($this->data['User']['password']);
     }
